Buttsup Duck Design More Than Quadruples Sales in Rural Nevada Through Manufacture Nevada Support

“The support that Manufacture Nevada offers Nevada manufacturers is invaluable. They supply a business like ours new ideas and they know the community and the region. The support they offer could not be more customized to the individual needs of a Nevada business. And they support a business through every step of growth — from personnel training, to funding, to valuable connections to state resources.”

– Kelly Campbell, CEO, Buttsup Duck Design

The Client

Buttsup Duck Design embroiders, screenprints and customizes clothing and hard goods for businesses, sports teams and governmental organizations across Nevada and into California.

The Situation

Founded in 2008 and housed in owner Kelly Campbell’s home, Buttsup Duck Design was looking for a permanent storefront as a home where the company could scale its production process and showcase its products.

The Solution

Manufacture Nevada provided Buttsup Duck Design with business plan support, a full business assessment and help with the acquisition of funding. The support gave Buttsup Duck Design a clear relocation plan and growth strategy.

The Results

In 2014, Buttsup Duck Design moved into a new location in downtown Fallon and more than doubled its sales because of the increased visibility and foot traffic. The new space also allowed the company to purchase new equipment that reduced turnaround time, increased productivity and allowed the company to take on larger clients.

Kennametal

The goal of this project was to reduce operational downtime related to processing pumps. This involved creating a game plan based on the principles of lean. Another finding, as this process evolved, was the need for mandatory log out tag out sheets and checklists to quickly identify the causes of the pump failures. Furthermore, we determined the need to perform root cause analysis on each pump failure and target preventative maintenance accordingly.
