The Client

GE Engine Services is affiliated with General Electric and performs the overhaul and remanufacture of locomotive traction motor and axle assemblies. The company is based in Las Vegas, Nevada with 70 employees.

The Situation

GE Engine Services was expanding their workforce and needed assistance with their training of new employees. GE Engine Services needed a partner that had an experienced network in Nevada to utilize. They contacted Manufacture Nevada, a NIST MEP affiliate.

The Solution

Manufacture Nevada s industrial experience and strong partnerships with state and local entities proved invaluable in solving GE’s concerns. Manufacure Nevada worked with local authorities and the Plant Manager, Anup Kolatkar, to work through difficult applications for the incentives for their expansion Manufacture Nevada was successful in providing and sourcing training funds from Train Employees Now through the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

The Results

The results of working with Manufacture Nevada enabled GE Engine Services to streamline and hire employees and provide training to the employees. Through this support, GE was also able to reduce the delays in training time.
